Babrees French Resistance

Our first choice of name was Babrees French Letter, and his pet name was going to be Johnny (bit cheeky!!). But The Kennel Club didn’t allow that, we he was named French Resistance and pet name René after the fab series ‘Allo, ‘Allo. Like his dad Dezi, René was a very special dog.

We had already retired from showing when he was born, but when Myrna Shiboleth got a judging appointment we decided to take him. He was 4 years old and had never been trained, let alone near a ring! We started training him and took him to a few ringcraft sessions prior to the show. I was so proud of his behaviour in the actual ring, and even prouder when Myrna awarded him Best Dog and then Best of Breed. However, I was sadly unable to go into the group ring, as I had hitched a lift with somebody and they couldn’t stay. We showed Rene just a handful of times.
